Traprock Minerals of New Jersey

For over a hundred years the minerals of the N.J. basalts have been favorites with mineral collectors. Many of the old classic sites have come and gone but there are still a few quarries which allow supervised collecting and specimens are still available from old time collectors of the region.. This site will show some of the species found at the various sites throughout the region and give some information about their occurrence.
